CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Barre

Barre fitness is a hybrid workout class - combining ballet-inspired moves with elements of Pilates, dance, yoga and strength training. Most classes incorporate a ballet barreand use classic dance moves such as plies, alongside static stretches. Barre also focuses on high reps of small range movements.

 

Body & Spirit Yoga

Whether you are young or old, overweight or fit, yoga has the power to calm the mind and strengthen the body. Yoga is for everyone. The word 'Yoga' essentially means, 'that which brings you to reality'. Literally, it means 'union.' This class focuses on the union between body and spirit.

BoxFit 30

BoxFit is a cardio workout based on the training used for boxing focusing on toning and fitness. It includes skipping, boxing drills and bodyweight exercises that incorporate footwork and abdominal movements.

 

Free Weights Introduction

Our Free Weights Introduction class is essentially a beginners guide to the use of 'Free Weights.'  It is perfect for anyone that has not used Free Weights before and is looking to add Free Weights to their gym routine.

Hatha Flow Yoga

The word hatha actually means willful or forceful, and refers to a set of postures that are designed to align the skin, the muscles, and the bones. They are designed to open the many channels of the body, specifically the spine (referring to the sushsumna nadi) so that energy can flow more freely through the body.

HiiT 30

High-intensity interval training, also called high-intensity intermittent exercise or sprint interval training, is a form of interval training, a cardiovascular exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods, until you are literally too exhausted to continue.

Joseph Pilates

Pilates takes its name from Joseph Pilates. A German-born emigré to Britain and then America, he devised the Pilates method as a new approach to exercise and body-conditioning in the early decades of the last century.

Legs, Bums & Tums focuses on strengthening and toning your legs, gluten and abdominal region through various exercises.

Les Mills Body Balance

Ideal for anyone and everyone, BODYBALANCE™* is the yoga-based class that will improve your mind, your body and your life.  During BODYBALANCE an inspired soundtrack plays as you bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga moves and embrace elements of Tai Chi and Pilates. Breathing control is a part of all the exercises, and instructors will always provide options for those just getting started. You'll strengthen your entire body and leave the class feeling calm and centered. Yoga is a mind and body practice with a 5,000-year history in ancient Indian philosophy. Various styles of yoga combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation.

Our Stretch and Flex Class is essentially just that! It focuses on stretching out the entire body.

Strength & Mobility

Our Strength and Mobility Class is essentially just that! It focuses on strengthen the body, especially the core, and increasing mobility.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa Yoga can be described as movement linked with breath. It's a dynamic practice that's often more playful than other styles and we love it for its ability to lift the heart rate and help students slip into a moving meditation that benefits the body and mind.  The term Vinyasa is derived from 'Nyasa' meaning 'to place' and 'vi' meaning 'in a special way.'

Yoga Flex Skill Move

Yoga, Flex, Skill, Move is a traditional yoga class that focuses on increasing movement and skill within the practice of yoga.

Zumba

Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves. Zumba routines incorporate interval training, alternating fast and slow rhythms to help improve cardiovascular fitness.
